Daphne Pearl Therese Mary Veronica Houston, also known as Daffy. Daffy was a 95-year-old great grandmother who became famous from her Facebook page called Daffy’s Wise Words. The page was started by Daffy and her granddaughter Melissa in August 2021. Melissa videoed Daffy talking about her childhood, her thoughts on today’s current trends, and worldly advice. Due to Daffy’s cheeky and no-nonsense attitude, the page soon took off and as of today she has 307,000 followers from around the world and all walks of life. She also has 22,000 followers on Instagram. Daffy and Melissa showed the world how you can care for an elderly person and show compassion, love, and have a laugh along the way.
Daffy sadly passed away on the 3rd September 2023. Her Facebook page has remained open, with regular updates from Melissa, because Daffy touched the hearts of thousands of people. All Daffy's videos are still available to watch and we highly recommend you start from the beginning. You will laugh, cry and wet your pants in hysterics.
Daffy’s family are selling stubby holders to raise money for local charities and services in Cowra. So far we have donated $9000 to the Cowra Information Neighbourhood Centre to put towards the Youth Involvement Program, we have purchased 4 defibrillators that are currently being placed around Cowra and we have donated $4000 to Neuroblastoma Australia (kids cancer research) and $5000 to Ronald McDonald House in Orange NSW. We will be continuing to raise money for more defibrillators and will donating to another important charity in Cowra.
The stubby holders depict a picture of Daffy and some of her famous and hilarious sayings. Every Friday Daffy would give her Friday's wise words and it usually was "get up with a smile on your face and don't be a dickhead". She was also quoted as saying "bugger men I would rather have a donkey in the backyard". So please buy a couple of stubby holders to support this wonderful community service and give Daffy the opportunity to travel around the world in spirit ❤️👵🏼.
We have also branched out to Lapel Pins. They are 2cm in diameter and have a cartoon picture of Daffy with her famous saying "Get up with smile on your face and don't be a dickhead". We think these will be a hit 😊
